About the artist:

Sibal’s journey of life, various visits to various museums and galleries were a part of his journey to open the horizons.

Sibal’s visits to Louvre Museum – Paris where he saw the Mona Lisa hanging right in front as he entered, Moulin Rouge where he could feel the works of Henri de Tolouse- Lautrec in the foyer, his visits to Tate Gallery London where John Hay Witney’s collection of paintings was exhibited in early 60’s created a lasting impression on him.

There he also saw in particular Napoleon’s white horse painted by Theodore Gericault which was an inspiration for him paint horses. Later on in life he had an exhibition on the subject of horses with a well known Hungarian artist Robert Konig which was much appreciated by all…

Music has always played a great role in Sibal’s life in the context of painting, besides listening to Indian classical  music at home, while during his stay abroad he used to draw inspiration by visiting the Royal Festival Hall, London to listen to the western classical music especially when it was being conducted by the greats of the likes of Sir Thomas Beecham, Sir Malcolm Sargent or may it be Otto Klemprer, famous for conducting the Beethoven’s composition -1812. Sibal’s brief encounter with Bertrand Russell, a great philosopher of his time, followed by his visits to Ireland & especially Switzerland with its beautiful countryside and mountains made Sibal think about peace and environment which till date he express through his canvas.
