This is a handcrafted screwpine folder woven by women from Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. Screwpine belongs to the botanical classification of Pandana and are palm-like trees. This craft of screwpine weaving is mostly practised by women using available material and weaving skills to generate income for their families. They travel to the wild to collect pandan leaves and work in group to make each piece. No mechanical means are involved throughout the making of this handicraft.
